Foxy Tann has been hailed as one of The Top 10 Burlesque Performers To Watch by The Huffington Post, dubbed the Boss of Burlesque and a pioneer of the neo-burlesque movement by The Star Tribune and crowned in 2006, with her trusty sidekicks The Wham Bam Thank You Maams, “Best Group” and “Most Vegas” at The Burlesque Hall of Fame, which has been called the Super Bowl of Burlesque by the New York Times. The Fox has been working professionally for over 20 years in drag, burlesque, theatre and the classroom. Foxy has taught circus, burlesque, costuming and acting to hundreds of people, bringing a unique teaching style of high expectations along with a fun and supportive environment.

Lola is the creator of Van Ella Studios and one of the artistic directors of Beggars Carnival, one of the most successful touring shows in all of the US. BURLESQUE DANCE TECHNIQUE – with Jeez Loueez
Stuck on the bump? Lost in the grind? Looking to add more POW to your peel? In this 1.5 hour burlesque workshop catered to current performers, Jeez Loueez combines the basic elements of burlesque striptease choreography with detailed dance technique and exercises. Beginning with a warm-up that combines ballet, jazz, and cardio to strengthen your core and lengthen your muscles, this class gets your blood pumping. . Kicks, turns, floorwork, and more will be explored as students learn a fun, sexy, burlesque combination. Some performance experience is suggested.
Wear comfy, form fitting, workout or dance attire. Bring heels that you can move in.

HOW TO HEAR YOUR CHOREOGRAPHY – with Jeez Loueez
This performance movement class is for beginning dancers struggling with creating choreography. We will focus on three sections: 1) Choreographing to Counts, 2) Choreographing to Words & Instruments, 3)Improvisation. Using various types of music as the inspiration, this class will explore how to choreograph to the many layers of a musical track and work through creative blocks and transitions. Students will use a short piece of choreography to explore exercises and games designed for dance making.
Please bring heels or dance shoes and wear comfortable clothing to move in, pen and paper for note taking.

CHAIR DANCING – with Lola Van Ella
It’s time to get sexy. Using a chair as a prop has been utilized in burlesque and exotic dancing for years,and for good reason. Join Lola for a workshop in exotic, sultry and sexy moves all involved around one of the most well loved and readily available props around. We will spend 90 minutes learning an arsenal of tried and true sultry moves that can be used to great effect on stage or in the bedroom. We will work that chair like a hot lover and discover all kinds of fun and tantalizing moves on top of, below, behind and all over that chair. By the end of our time, we will also learn a ready to perform, choreographed routine to take home.

THE DREAM ACT – conceptualization and construction
This is a four week, five class intensive designed to bring your hopes and dreams to the stage. Attendance to all four Sundays and the Run and Critique class (March 16 – April 8) is included in this uber low price! Tassel Twirling and Fabulous is a State of Mind will be offered to all students who purchase The Dream Act for the price of $15/class. We encourage you to try to take The Whole Enchilada…get as much as you can out of your time, effort and hard earned cash!

WEEK #1 – Show & Tell
Bring your whole act…or everything that you have so far…even if it is just the fabric for the costume…bring the music…bring your concept…and be ready to move and talk through your thought process. You and your fellow students will work through initial impressions possible issues and concerns. A constructive feedback system headed up and guided by The Fox and RedBone will set you on your path in your creation of your new act.

WEEK #2 – Costume & Reveals
This class is all about costume evolution. Concept, construction and removal technique is the focus of this guided exchange moderated up by The Fox and RedBone. This is an invaluable chance to physically work on your removals in front of large set of mirrors with educated outside eyes.
Obviously, the closer to finished your costume is the better off you will be.

WEEK #3 – Landmarks and Musicality
Musicality, composition and impact! We all work together on our feet to find your musical landmarks and plot the path and arc of your new act! Building your physical vocabulary gets easier with RedBone and The Fox! Lines, angles, patterns and levels – it’s all taken account in this intensive workshop that solidifies the choreographic skeleton of your new endeavor!

WEEK #4 – Present & Polish
It’s about the little things…your costume is done (it better be), you’ve been working your ass off on your choreography, your inner monologue is written…it’s time we take a look at your new act as a whole, in all it’s glory…how are the lines, does your costume really work, are there enough rhinestones (never), is your hair big enough…earth shattering questions! Thorough notes to be given by The Fox and RedBone, looking at the overall impact of your act.

Run and Critique – Tuesday April 8 - 6-7:30pm
This right here is an opportunity to come and work on your act in an open environment with The Fox and some of her best friends in the biz! Using an immediate implementation model, Fox and friends work with you on a limited individual basis giving you supportive and constructive notes and helping you to incorporate them immediately. Think of this as a dedicated rehearsal for known trouble spots and rough patches. Be prepared to run, run, run to get the most out of your time!
ASSELS – Tassels ain’t just for titties no more!
You have all asked for it…now you are gonna get it…it’s finally time for ASSELS! You have learned to twirl with your titties, but that’s just not enough is it? You’ve seen it on YouTube, you’ve seen it on-stage and now you want to do it! You want to put pasties on your bootie and shake for all you are worth! Learn the basics of assels from The Fox and take your twirling to a whole nother level! It’s the most fun that you can have legally in Minnesota!

Tassel twirling is the most recognizable elements of burlesque, and Foxy Tann knows that absolutely anyone can do it! In this raucous introductory class, The Fox will teach you the basics of tassel twirling as a fun way to build a better body image for yourself and gain self confidence. There is no dance experience necessary and everyone is welcome! HardCore Pasties and The No Hassle Tassels will be available to you to borrow for the class or buy so you can take your new found skill home and impress your partner or your roommates. Wear movement clothing and know that we will be removing the top half of it in this class. You can’t twirl unless you let the girls out!

FABULOUS IS A STATE OF MIND
Sometimes a girl has GOT to be fabulous! Whether it be on stage, in the boardroom, or at a podium, there are times when a woman’s gotta be larger than life. The Fox is offering an exciting and fun way to get in touch with a truthful inner confidence using burlesque as a framework. You will create and use pathways and methodologies that will help you forge a more sexy and confident you in an authentic and organic way – allowing you to tap into show stopping energy whenever you need it. BEAT THAT FACE with Victoria DeVille
Ask and ye shall receive! Here she is, Mistress Victoria DeVille, teaching you the tried and true basics of make-up for the stage. Learn how to emphasize and enhance your natural beauty, making your features more visible to your audience. You have worked so hard on your costume and your choreography, it’s time to focus on your best feature – your face! Your face is what the audience looks at first…really it is…and you should, as they say, put your best face forward. Vickie (as we like to call her) is one of the fiercest drag queens in The Twin Titties, and she has so graciously accepted our invitation to put the fierce on your face. Contouring, foundation application, eye shadow techniques, the uses of glitter and more glitter, all these tricks of the trade and more will be at your fingertips after taking this class.
